Eating for peak performance isn’t rocket science, but it does take some take some trial and error. No one knows this better than Olympic swimmer and TrueSport Ambassador Elizabeth Beisel, who always takes time to eat the foods that will help her most in the pool.
Being healthy is a lifestyle. It’s something you have to do 24/7. I think it starts with sleeping a lot, but nutrition-wise, getting enough of vegetables, fruits, water, hydration is so key, and proteins as well, whether you’re getting that from meats, or if you’re a vegetarian, getting it from tofu or whatever. I’m not a vegetarian, so I don’t know. But just getting pretty much a balanced diet and feeling for what you’re doing throughout the day and really changing it whether you’re going to do a lot of athletics or a lot of working out that day or not. It’s sort of a trial and error.
