Ambassadorship Goals:

Michele LaBotz MD has ongoing interests in injury prevention, physical literacy and athletic development in children and adolescents, sports nutrition and the use of performance enhancing substances in young athletes, and promoting safe and accessible sporting opportunities for all children,

She graduated from Dartmouth Medical School and trained in pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Maine Medical Center before her sports medicine fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  She is an associate professor at Tufts University School of Medicine, a Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital Scholarship Academy member and is serving as the medical director of the athletic training program at the University of New England. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Council on Sports Medicine and Fitness and serves on the board for the AAP’s Maine Chapter and for the Taylor Hooton Foundation.  She is a fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine, a member of the  Pediatric Research in Sports Medicine Society and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.  She serves as the chair of the Health and Safety Advisory Council for the National Council of Youth Sports.
