Luke’s goal as a TrueSport Ambassador is to champion inclusion in sport and challenge the stigma surrounding being different. Through sharing his own journey as an athlete, he hopes to inspire the next generation to embrace their authentic selves, prioritize mental well-being while continuing to push their boundaries, and feel empowered to stand up for their values. Ultimately, he wants young athletes to understand that success is not defined solely by their achievements, but also by the courage to be themselves, the integrity with which they compete, and the positive impact they make on others.
Luke Wang is a U.S. Figure Skating National Team member who has established himself on the international stage in pairs skating, achieving a career-best world ranking in the top 20. Originally from a suburb outside Baltimore, Maryland, Luke, who credits his mother’s enthusiasm and support, grew up with a love for the arts, studying piano, cello, and alto saxophone while pursuing interests in acting and musical theatre. He soon developed a passion for the ice, beginning his skating journey in singles (with his musical background at the forefront) and became a national competitor at the novice and junior levels.
In 2022, Luke made the unexpected move to Colorado Springs to embrace an entirely new discipline, transitioning from singles to pairs skating. Alongside his partner, Olivia Flores, the duo became known as “Live Laugh Luke,” representing the United States on the international stage. During the 2024–2025 season, they rose to No. 1 in the ISU World Junior Rankings. Their accomplishments include winning the 2024 U.S. Junior Title, earning silver at the 2024 ISU World Junior Figure Skating Championships and the 2025 ISU Junior Grand Prix Final, and placing seventh at the 2026 U.S. Figure Skating Championships ahead of the Milan Olympic Winter Games.
In 2026, Luke embarked on a new chapter, moving to Los Angeles to begin his undergraduate studies at UCLA, where he is studying economics with a minor in entrepreneurship. While pursuing his education, he continues to hold a deep love for figure skating and remains open to returning to competitive skating in the future, with the Olympic Winter Games representing his ultimate dream.
Luke is also a full-time figure skating coach at Toyota Sports Performance Center in El Segundo, where he strives to pass on his passion for the sport to the next generation. He is particularly passionate about his partnership with Unity Ice Academy, a nonprofit organization working to expand access to skating through free and low-cost summer and fall programs for families across the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Through his coaching and community involvement, Luke hopes to help young athletes discover the joy of skating and the opportunities that sport can create, regardless of their family background or financial circumstances.
Luke’s passion for sport extends beyond athletic achievement. He believes in the importance of inclusive leadership, mental wellness, authenticity, and integrity in creating a more positive and supportive athletic environment. Drawing on his experiences as both an elite athlete and a coach, he is committed to fostering a culture in which young athletes are encouraged not only to pursue excellence, but also to develop confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of self. Through education, mentorship, and advocacy for greater access to sport, Luke hopes to empower the next generation to thrive and lead a healthier, more inclusive future for sport.
