Classroom/After-School Curriculum

The TrueSport Curriculum program provides teachers, program facilitators, and sport camp instructors
access to a turnkey, activity-based curriculum, including Facilitator Guides and Student Workbooks, for elementary-, middle-, and high school-aged students and student-athletes. Each age level meets National Education Standards and comes with pre-and post-assessments, as well as enrichment activities to enhance students’ and athletes’ learning experiences. The series has been included in the California Healthy Kids Resource Center library for use in CA schools and after-school programs.

As a parent and health educator, Rosanne Keathley feels that ethics and fair play in sport is a holistic issue that can effectively be instilled in the classroom through teachers, coaches, parent and family members, peers and friends, businesses and organizations, and the media. She also understands the value of engaging students at an early age in a positive learning environment that promotes a lifestyle free of substance, steroid and performance-enhancing abuse.

Judy_SandlinJudy Sandlin, Ph.D.

Ethics and integrity are an integral part of all aspects of Judy Sandlin’s life. From a very young age, she received guidance and direction on morals and ethical principles from her parents, church, adult friends, and teachers. She feels very fortunate to have received the assistance and advice from selfless individuals who are exceptional role models, and she wants to give that back to the next generation of young athletes.

As a coach and director of youth soccer players, Mark’s creative and innovative activities, practice formats, and training programs have been recognized nationally as outstanding methods for the technical, physical and personal development of young soccer players. He consistently challenges his athletes to be GREAT! “You have to commit to participate with energy and enthusiasm to achieve high goals for yourself and your team,” says Mark.

Peggy_VigilPeggy Vigil

Through sport, and as an athlete and coach, Peggy Vigil has learned that integrity for self and others is imperative in order to be successful in life. Through her work in the education field for the past 30 years, she has been able to work towards a level playing field, integrating character and decision-making into her daily teaching and coaching routines.

Amanda Stanec, Ph.D.

As the owner of Move Live Learn, Amanda Stanec is committed to helping people live healthier lives. The author of over twenty articles and several book chapters related to physical education, sport, health, and wellness topics, she believes children and youth can learn valuable lessons from sport to help them grow into productive citizens equipped with ample integrity to help make the world a better place.

100% Me Elementary School Level

The TrueSport 100% Me Elementary School program provides students with invaluable tools to make ethical decisions that take into account the impact of their behavior on themselves and others; introduces students to the Six Pillars of Character® from CHARACTER COUNTS!®; encourages them to enjoy sports and physical activities; instructs students on the importance of sportsmanship; teaches the basics of proper nutrition, hydration, and sleep; promotes drug prevention awareness; and aids students in understanding genes, traits, and body types.

100% Me is easily adaptable to a multitude of settings, including classrooms (of an array of subject areas), integrated teaching, nontraditional classrooms such as weight rooms and locker rooms, after-school programs, and youth sport leagues.

Becoming a “True Sport for Life” is living the TrueSport principles, both on the field and off. It includes being a good sport, working hard, and always competing to the best of your natural abilities. It also means respecting yourself, your teammates, your opponents, and your sport.

The TrueSport 100% Me Middle School program equips students to make ethical decisions; guides them in improving their health and athletic performance; provides them with an understanding of genes, traits, and body types; cultivates an awareness of the dangers associated with drug (including performance-enhancing substances) and supplement use; instructs them on the risks associated with energy drink consumption; and arms them with the tools to make healthy nutritional choices.

100% Me is easily adaptable to a multitude of settings, including classrooms (of an array of subject areas), integrated teaching, nontraditional classrooms such as weight rooms and locker rooms, after-school programs, and youth sport leagues.
